Fare bands by US origin

## British Airways Business Class fares from each US gateway

Round-trip consolidator fare bands in shoulder season (April-May, September-October). Peak summer and holiday windows typically run 30-50% higher.

| US Origin | Fare band | Flight time | Cabin / aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| JFK | $2,400-$2,900 | ~7h eastbound | About 9 daily; aircraft vary (verified on every quote) |
| BOS | $2,300-$2,900 | ~6.5h eastbound | Multiple daily Club Suite; often $100-$300 below JFK |
| IAD | $2,500-$3,100 | ~7.5h eastbound | About 3 daily (verify aircraft on quote) |
| ORD | $2,500-$3,200 | ~8h eastbound | About 3 daily (verify aircraft on quote) |

## The Club Suite cabin (rolling out since 2019)

BA Club Suite is the most-polished US-Europe Business Class cabin in the air today. 1-2-1 lie-flat with a closing privacy door, about 21 inches wide, an 18.5-inch screen, full bedding and a dedicated stowage area. The seat is a customised version of the Collins Super Diamond platform.

Club Suite is on every A350-1000, 777-300ER, 787-8 and 787-10, and on all Heathrow-based 777-200ERs. The older Club World seat (fully flat, but no door and a yin-yang layout) remains on unrefurbished A380s, which fly Miami and San Francisco this winter, on most 787-9s, and on Gatwick-based 777-200ERs. BA's A380s start getting 106 Club Suites each in the coming months, with all 12 done by 2028. On a written quote, verify the aircraft type.

## Where BA Club Suite beats the competition

Closing privacy door: BA Club Suite has one on every seat, as do Qatar Qsuite, Cathay Aria Suite and ANA "The Room". BA is no longer unique on transatlantic routes (Lufthansa's Allegris Business Suites also close, for example), so confirm the aircraft.

Schedule frequency: BA flew about 50 US departures a day in summer 2026, from roughly 26 US airports. If your departure or arrival window is constrained, BA usually has a flight that fits.

Heathrow T5 lounges: BA's Galleries First Lounge at T5 (accessible to Club World/Suite passengers under specific conditions) is one of the strongest US-bound lounges in Europe, with the Concorde Room available to First Class passengers. The Galleries Club lounge is more standard but well-equipped.

## Paying with Avios

Since December 15, 2025, BA charges 88,000 Avios off-peak or 99,000 peak one-way in Club from New York or Chicago to London, plus several hundred dollars in fees and carrier charges (about $409 on Chicago-London in May 2026, before a further increase). Lower fees apply on Iberia-operated flights, such as to Madrid. Avios transfer 1:1 from Amex, Chase, Capital One, Bilt and Wells Fargo, and BA's program is now called The British Airways Club.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is the other common way to use points to London, with transfer partners including Amex, Chase, Citi and Capital One. Award prices on both programs vary by date, so compare them, and a consolidator cash fare, before you transfer points.

## Frequently asked

### How much does BA Business Class to London cost?

Through a consolidator in shoulder season: JFK-LHR Business Club Suite typically $2,400-$2,900 round-trip; BOS-LHR $2,300-$2,900 (often the cheapest US-LHR Business); IAD-LHR $2,500-$3,100; ORD-LHR $2,500-$3,200; MIA-LHR $2,600-$3,400; LAX-LHR $3,200-$4,000; SFO-LHR $3,200-$4,200. The published fare on ba.com for the same flight typically runs $4,200-$5,500.

### How can I tell if my BA flight has Club Suite or the older Club World cabin?

Club Suite (the newer 1-2-1 seat with a door) is on every A350-1000, 777-300ER, 787-8 and 787-10, and on Heathrow-based 777-200ERs. The older Club World (fully flat, no door) is on unrefurbished A380s, most 787-9s and Gatwick-based 777-200ERs. If your itinerary shows an A380 or a 787-9, check the seat map; a consolidator quote states the aircraft in writing.

### Which US-LHR Business Class is cheapest: BA, Virgin Atlantic, or Delta One?

Pricing clusters within $100-$300 of each other on JFK-LHR through a consolidator. BA Club Suite $2,400-$2,900; Virgin Atlantic Upper Class $2,300-$2,900; Delta One $2,500-$3,000. Cabin quality: Virgin Upper Class on the A330neo is closest to BA Club Suite in premium feel; Delta One is comparable.

### Is BA First Class worth the upgrade from Club Suite?

On most routes, no. BA's current First seat is an older design, while Club Suite already has a door and typically prices $1,500-$3,000 less round-trip. That is changing: BA has unveiled a new First suite with a door that arrives on retrofitted A380s from the coming months, and it refreshed First dining, bedding and amenity kits from October 1, 2026. For pure value, Club Suite wins; if you want First, check which aircraft your date uses.

### Can I use Avios for BA Business Class to London?

Yes. BA charges 88,000 Avios off-peak or 99,000 peak one-way in Club from New York or Chicago to London (since December 15, 2025), plus several hundred dollars in fees. Avios move 1:1 between the British Airways Club, Iberia Plus, Aer Lingus AerClub and Qatar Privilege Club, and transfer from Amex, Chase, Capital One, Bilt and Wells Fargo. Compare the total against a consolidator cash fare before transferring points.

### How does a Business Class consolidator price compare to the airline website?

A contracted consolidator typically prices 30-60% below the airline's published Business Class fare on the same flight. Same airline, same cabin, same seat, same lounge access, same baggage. Only the fare class differs - consolidators access privately filed fare buckets (I, Z, P, R or airline-specific codes) that the airline files for distribution only through accredited agencies in exchange for volume commitments.

### Will I earn frequent flyer miles on a consolidator Business Class ticket?

Yes, in almost all cases. Tickets are issued in standard fare classes that earn miles in the airline's frequent flyer program at the rates published for the fare class. Some heavily-discounted contract buckets earn at 50-75% of distance flown instead of 125-150%. We confirm the exact earning rate on every quote before you ticket.

### What should I verify in writing before paying any travel agency?

Six items: (1) ARC, IATA, or IATAN accreditation; (2) fare basis specified in writing; (3) aircraft type confirmed; (4) baggage allowance in writing; (5) refund / change policy in writing; (6) credit card payment accepted. Reputable agencies will provide all six before any deposit; walk away from anyone who will not.

## Fare information & legal notice

At Business Class Travel, all fares are transparently displayed in USD and include all taxes, fees, and surcharges. Quoted prices are 'from' rates per person, typically for weekday (Monday-Thursday) Business Class travel originating in the USA, with the final price varying based on your chosen cabin, departure city, airline, and route. Generally, the lowest transatlantic fares depart from the East Coast, transpacific from the West Coast, and Latin American routes from Florida. To offer you unique value, some partner airline or itinerary details may remain confidential online until the time of booking, allowing us to secure savings of up to 60% off full unrestricted fares from major airlines, though actual savings vary by specific fare rules. Please note that some airlines may charge extra for baggage, and all our special fares are subject to seat availability, which is limited and may not be available on all flights or dates. We are pleased that many of our partner airlines currently offer flexible booking policies, including free exchanges and/or cancellations; typically, cancellations result in an airline travel credit (less any airline fees) valid per the airline's policy, while exchanges may incur a fare difference. Fares and their governing rules are subject to change without prior notice, and other restrictions may apply. The Business Class Travel team is always here to assist with any questions.
