## Is Copa Business Class worth it in 2026?

Copa Airlines Business Class is a narrow-body product: lie-flat Dreams seats in a 2-2 layout on the 737 MAX 9, and recliner seats on the 737-800, MAX 8 and 737-700. Copa flies to about 18 US cities from its Panama City hub, which connects across Central America, South America and the Caribbean, and offers a free Panama Stopover. Contracted New York or Washington to Panama fares run $2,200-$3,200 round-trip.

- Lie-flat Dreams Business only on the 737 MAX 9 (2-2, no direct aisle access)
- Recliner Business on the 737-800, MAX 8 and 737-700
- About 18 US cities, all via Panama City (PTY)
- Star Alliance; free Panama Stopover

## The 60-second verdict

- **The hub of the Americas.** (strength): Copa connects about 18 US cities to Panama City and on to most of Central America, South America and the Caribbean, often with a single, short connection.
- **Lie-flat Dreams on the MAX 9.** (strength): Copa's 737 MAX 9s have Dreams Business seats that recline fully flat, a rarity on a narrow-body flying to Panama.
- **Star Alliance and a free stopover.** (strength): Copa is in Star Alliance, so United MileagePlus and other partners can book and credit it, and the Panama Stopover lets you spend time in Panama City on the way at no extra airfare.
- **Many flights are recliners.** (mixed): The 737-800, MAX 8 and 737-700 have recliner Business seats. On an overnight or long flight, ask us to target a MAX 9 departure.
- **No direct aisle access.** (mixed): Even the lie-flat Dreams cabin is 2-2, so window passengers climb past the aisle seat.

## Dreams Business on the 737 MAX 9

Copa's 32 737 MAX 9s carry 12 or 16 Dreams Business seats in a 2-2 layout that reclines fully flat. It is a comfortable product for a narrow-body, but there is no direct aisle access from the window seats and no door.

## Recliner Business on other 737s

The 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 have 16 Business recliners with a footrest, and the 737-700 has 12. These are comparable to a US domestic first class seat, fine for a daytime flight of a few hours.

## US network and Panama Stopover

It does not serve Houston.

Copa's Panama Stopover lets you stop in Panama City for up to 15 days on the way to or from another destination at no extra airfare. Copa is also adding Starlink Wi-Fi from July 2026.

## Lounge and miles

The Copa Club in Terminal 1 at Panama City has open seating, work areas and a bar. Copa's program is ConnectMiles, and as a Star Alliance member Copa flights can be booked and credited through partners such as United MileagePlus.
