## Is LATAM Business Class worth it in 2026?

LATAM Premium Business varies by aircraft. The 777-300ER and newer 787-9s have a staggered 1-2-1 seat with direct aisle access, retrofitted 787s add suites with sliding doors, and older 787s are 2-2-2. LATAM flies non-stop from Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Orlando and Boston to Sao Paulo, Lima and Santiago, and partners with Delta. Contracted Miami-Sao Paulo fares run $2,800-$4,200 round-trip.

- Suites with doors on retrofitted 787s; older 787s are 2-2-2
- 777-300ER and newer 787-9s: staggered 1-2-1, no door
- Joint venture with Delta since 2022; no alliance since leaving oneworld in 2020
- Hubs: Sao Paulo, Santiago, Lima and Bogota

## The 60-second verdict

- **Suites with doors on the newest 787s.** (strength): LATAM is retrofitting 24 787s with Recaro suites that have sliding doors, the first from a South American airline, in a staggered 1-2-1 layout with 18-inch screens. The first entered service in April 2025.
- **The widest US-South America network.** (strength): LATAM flies non-stop from Miami, New York JFK, Los Angeles, Orlando, Boston and Atlanta to its hubs, with Miami alone linking to Sao Paulo, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogota and Quito.
- **Delta partnership.** (strength): LATAM and Delta run a joint venture across the Americas, so Delta SkyMiles and LATAM Pass members earn on each other's flights with reciprocal elite benefits.
- **The seat depends on the aircraft.** (mixed): Non-retrofitted 787-8s and early 787-9s are 2-2-2, so window passengers lack direct aisle access. We confirm the aircraft on every quote.
- **Some US flights are narrow-body.** (mixed): New York-Guayaquil and Orlando-Lima use A320-family aircraft, where LATAM's premium cabin is an economy seat with the middle blocked, not a bed.

## Premium Business by aircraft

LATAM's 777-300ERs (38 seats) and newer 787-9s (30 seats) use the Thompson Vantage XL in a staggered 1-2-1 layout: fully flat with direct aisle access for every seat. LATAM Peru's 767-300ERs also have a 1-2-1 staggered cabin.

Older 787-8s and early 787-9s have a 2-2-2 Premium Business cabin, which is lie-flat but leaves window passengers stepping over a neighbor. These are the aircraft getting the new suites.

## The new suites with doors

LATAM is fitting 24 787s (10 787-8s and 14 787-9s) with Recaro suites that have sliding privacy doors, 18-inch HD screens and USB-C power, in a staggered layout that alternates paired and separated center seats. The first retrofitted aircraft flew in April 2025, and the program was targeted to finish in the second half of 2026.

## US network

From Miami, LATAM flies to Sao Paulo, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogota and Quito, plus seasonal Fortaleza. From New York JFK it flies to Sao Paulo, Santiago, Lima and Guayaquil; from Los Angeles to Sao Paulo, Lima and Santiago; from Orlando to Sao Paulo, Bogota and Lima; from Boston to Sao Paulo; and from Atlanta to Lima.

Miami-Sao Paulo is one of the busiest US-South America Business routes, and Miami-Buenos Aires has run daily on the 787 since December 2025.

## Delta partnership and LATAM Pass

LATAM left oneworld in 2020 and has run a joint venture with Delta since 2022. Delta SkyMiles and LATAM Pass members earn on flights operated by either airline, with reciprocal elite recognition and access to each other's lounges in the joint-venture cities.
