Very good for SkyTeam connections, especially with Delta Plane Train moving you between concourses in 90 seconds. For inter-line connections (e.g. arriving on Lufthansa, connecting on Delta to a domestic flight), allow 90-120 minutes; bag transfers between non-partner airlines can be slow. SkyTeam-to-SkyTeam connections are smooth and often book through cleanly.

ATL has more international Delta One destinations than JFK (30+ vs 15+), but JFK has higher daily frequency on commodity routes (LHR, CDG). Through a consolidator, ATL Delta One often prices $100-$300 below JFK on the same destination because of Delta's allocation strategy.
